So, as some of you may know, I am part of the Superwholock fandom (only the best three shows on television, American and British). If you don’t know what these shows are, you are not in my own circle of fighting emotions. I am one of the introverts, one of the ones who would rather stay home and watch Netflix until three in the morning, never changing out of my pajamas, just to watch whole seasons of a newly discovered show. Tumblr is a lifeline, to which the best insanity rests and never sleeps. It is on that website that the most objective and protective people arise, to defend their way of life, their fandom life, and to guard their shows with their life.

Here is just one of these golden posts, to which any part of the Superwholock fandom will relate to:

This post is dedicated to those who can’t and won’t sleep to watch just one more episode, the ones who accept their insanity with open arms, and the ones who embrace life with a unique view, and the ones who won’t let judgement bash their opinions. These people will rule the world, and when they do, a better world will arise.

Quote about fan…

From girlinsneakers:

Quote about fandom

“Fandom is focus. Fandom is obsession. Fandom is insatiable consumption. Fandom is sitting for hours in front of a TV screen a movie screen a computer screen with a comic book a novel on your lap. Fandom is eyestrain and carpal tunnel syndrome and not enough exercise and staying up way, way past your bedtime.

Fandom is people you don’t tell your mother you’re meeting. Fandom is people in the closet, people out and proud, people in costumes, people in T-shirts with slogans only fifty others would understand. Fandom is a loud dinner conversation scaring the waiter and every table nearby.

Fandom is you in Germany and me in the US and him in Australia and her in Japan. Fandom is a sofabed in New York, a roadtrip to Oxnard, a friend behind a face in London. Fandom talks past timezones and accents and backgrounds. Fandom is conversation. Communication. Contact.

Fandom is drama. Fandom is melodrama. Fandom is high school. Fandom is Snacky’s law and Godwin’s law and Murphy’s law. Fandom is smarter than you. Fandom is stupider than you. Fandom is five arguments over and over and over again. Fandom is the first time you’ve ever had them.

Fandom is female. Fandom is male. Fandom lets female play at being male. Fandom bends gender, straight, gay, prude, promiscuous. Fandom is fantasy. Fandom doesn’t care about norms or taboos or boundaries. Fandom cares too much about norms and taboos and boundaries. Fandom is not real life. Fandom is closer than real life. Fandom knows what you’re really like in the bedroom. Fandom is how you would never, could never be in the bedroom.

Fandom is shipping, never shipping, het, slash, gen, none of the above, more than the above. Fandom is love for characters you didn’t create. Fandom is recreating the characters you didn’t create. Fandom is appropriation, subversion, dissention. Fandom is adoration, extrapolation, imitation. Fandom is dissection, criticism, interpretation. Fandom is changing, experimenting, attempting.

Fandom is creating. Fandom is drawing, painting, vidding: nine seasons in four minutes of love. Fandom is words, language, authoring. Fandom is essays, stories, betas, parodies, filks, zines, usenet posts, blog posts, message board posts, emails, chats, petitions, wank, concrit, feedback, recs. Fandom is writing for the first time since you were twelve. Fandom is finally calling yourself a writer.

Fandom is signal and response. Fandom is a stranger moving you to tears, anger, laughter. Fandom is you moving a stranger to speak.

Fandom is distraction. Fandom is endangering your job, your grades, your relationships, your bank account. Fandom gets no work done. Fandom is too much work. Fandom was/is just a phase. Fandom could never be just a phase. Fandom is where you found a friend, a sister, a kindred spirit. Fandom is where you found a talent, a love, a reason.

Fandom is where you found yourself.

Movie Month

So I have declared August “Movie Month” because so many movies I really want to see are coming out.

“The Way Way Back”! It just looks like a really good movie!

Well, the “Way Way Back” came out on July 26, but close enough.

On WEDNESDAY, “Percy Jackson and the Sea of Monsters” comes out!  SOOOO EXCITED!  (But the deal is that if this movie is as bad as the first, I am giving up on the movies)

(Here’s the best one)

The story of *that* is that I read the books first, fell in love with them, and then introduced them to all my friends, and now we are complete addicts!

What movies are you guys excited for to come out?

Super Sweet Blogging Award

I was checking my blog this morning when I saw a new comment on my Doctor Who (:D) post:

GIRL IN SNEAKERS nominated me for the Super Sweet Blogging Award!  THANK YOU!

First of all, I was completely blindsided by this and second of all, AHHHHHH! SO COOL!

The Super Sweet Blogging Award

The rules for those nominated:

1. Thank the blogger who nominated you.

2. Answer 5 Super Sweet questions. These can be found down below.

3. Include the Super Sweet Blogging Award in your blog post.

4. Nominate a baker’s dozen (13) other deserving bloggers.

5. Notify your Super Sweet nominees on their blog.

Super Sweet Questions:

1. Cookies or Cake?

My grandma makes these amazing chocolate chip cookies, so I’d have to say cookies.

2. Chocolate or Vanilla?

3. Favorite Sweet Treat?

We make these brownies sometimes that have about six types of chips and two types of nuts in them and they taste amazing!

4. When do you crave sweet treats the most?

When I’ve had a bad day. Usually I eat fruit or something (I know, a healthy teenager, shocking!)

5. Sweet nickname?

My Paw-Paw (grandfather) calls me “Peaches” because in the summer, we’ll get peaches and I’ll sit outside on the porch so the juices don’t go everywhere inside.

1. Maggie Royce– She got me started on blogging and I still think she’s the most fashion-forward, adult-like teenager I have ever met! (in a good way, of course, MR)

2. TheReporterandTheGirlMINUSTheSuperman!– I  love how she’s so up-to-date on everything and has an unbiased opinion.

3. Let It Come From Your Heart– Aisling! I love her photos and how inspirational they are.

4. The Blonde Prep– I love how she’s another teenage blogger and she loves to shout out her opinion, no matter what people think about it.
